End of WWI - HMS Philomel presented by the Admiralty to the Government of New Zealand as a training ship. This became the nucleus of a Dominion Naval organisation.
20 June 1921 - The New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.
1 October 1941 - Title of Royal New Zealand Navy granted by the King.
20 June 1968 - Hoisting of the RNZN White Ensign.
